Meterman, Sinestesia, Viagra - Ward Lane Tavern, Hamilton, NZ, 27/3/00
Get to Ward Lane for the last few songs of Meterman's set - they sound very tight and melodic - particularly the song 'City Hum'.
Hamilton's Viagra are up next and play their usual hard and fast set, but suffer from a pretty muddy sound - these guys are going to be playing the Mushroom Ball in May so check them out if you are in that area.
Last on were Sinestesia, who played a
fairly short but intense set to round off the night. I'm not really familiar with any of
their songs but someone told me that they sound a bit like Tool, which I thought was
unfair as they seem to have a bit more going on than that - I'd say they were like a
collision between HDU and The Melvins myself.
Unfortunately there are only a handful of people left at this stage, but those still there
seemed to enjoy it.
