Chris Knox, Scooter - Diggers Back Bar, Hamilton, NZ, 13/6/99

Scooter make their first Hamilton appearance for a while, starting off with radio favourite 'Day Room', they play two sets of both old and new material. New song 'Book 'em Dano' is a twangy surf number reminiscent of fellow Hamiltonians The Hollow Grinders, and, as always 'Maybe' is a standout.

Chris Knox takes the stage to rapturous applause and starts off with a couple of fairly quiet, introspective numbers before cranking up his drum machine and reeling off  noisier offerings both old and new. We even get treated to a rendition of The Enemy's 'Pull Down The Shades' which is a very rare occurance indeed. On 'The Joy Of Sex' Steve Gray from Scooter is (reluctantly) dragged on stage to play guitar while Mr Knox  is carried around on Rohan from MSU's shoulders ("don't drop me into the drumkit!!") and during 'Not Given Lightly' someone attempts to join in on harmonica(!) before Chris Knox decides "I'd better put the distortion on now to drown out that bloody harmonica!". Good to see so many people there.
